Samar Devraj

Samar is a sustainability advocate with a background in Marketing, Sustainability, and Social Impact from UBC's Sauder School of Business. Growing up in Mumbai, India, he witnessed the devastating impacts of climate change and income inequality, which inspired him to pursue a career focused on creating positive change for people and the planet. Samar is excited to join the Green Party of Vancouver's Board of Directors as its youngest member. He brings valuable experience from his role as Co-Director of Mugshare, a circular economy initiative dedicated to eliminating single-use cups, as well as his current position as Marketing Coordinator at Herbaland Naturals, where he also leads sustainability and ESG initiatives. Samar plans to leverage his expertise in partnerships, communications, stakeholder engagement, and youth-focused outreach to amplify the Green Party of Vancouver’s mission. He is committed to building trust within Vancouver's increasingly concerned youth population and bridging political divides to make tangible progress on issues that impact everyone’s safety and well-being. In his free time, Samar enjoys cooking new recipes, playing sports, and creating far too many playlists on Spotify.
