Nick Poppell | Chairperson
Nick is proud to serve as Chair of the Green Party of Vancouver after nearly a decade of organizing, campaigning, and advocating with this movement. He first joined the VanGreens in 2016, and since then he has worn a lot of hats: school board candidate, campaign coordinator, event planner, and strategist. Nick's background is in film, theatre, and storytelling - and that lens shapes how he approaches politics: by listening deeply, building strong narratives, and bringing people together around shared values. He believes local government works best when it’s transparent, compassionate, and grounded in long-term thinking, not short-term spin. Housing justice, climate resilience, and democratic renewal are at the heart of why Nick does this work. He believes the Green Party has a crucial role to play in shaping a city that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few, and he is committed to growing our movement with integrity, creativity, and purpose. When he is not working with the Greens, Nick volunteers his time as the Co-Chair of the Renters Advisory Committee for the City of Vancouver.
