@PtFry | [email protected]
Pete is a community advocate and a frequent public speaker on issues of land use, housing, sustainability, community, and affordability.
Self-employed in strategic and creative communications, he has worked with hundreds of local small businesses, arts and nonprofits; volunteering his skills to support health, animal welfare, poverty reduction, community development, and cultural groups.
Recognized for his commitment to community governance and place-based strategies, Pete has chaired and sat on a number of community boards, notably: the City’s Downtown Eastside Local Area Plan, the Strathcona Residents Association, and OurPlace.
Frustrated by his experience with local area planning but inspired to fix it, Pete first ran for City Council with the Greens in 2014 and has retained an active role in research and policy development.
Pete has lived in Vancouver since immigrating to Canada as a child, and today lives in Strathcona with his wife. He has passion, commitment and ideas for our city and is ready to work hard to serve Vancouver residents.
