An equitable city is one that recognizes the diverse needs and abilities of all residents. Our parks and recreation centres should be accessible and support the health and dignity of every person living in our city. Vancouver Green Park Board Commissioners will:
-
Pursue an equitable distribution of parks and recreation sites across the city, to ensure all Vancouverites have access to quality parks and recreation services in their neighborhood.
-
Prioritize the creation of more clean and accessible public washrooms with gender-neutral options, to remove barriers that limit people’s enjoyment of our parks and recreation centres.
-
Enhance access to all Vancouver parks and recreation centres for visitors with diverse mobility needs, to support equal opportunity and access for all Vancouverites.
-
Support multicultural and inclusive programming in all parks and recreation centres, to allow for greater accessibility and diversity in programs offered.
