Judy Zaichkowsky, School Board Trustee

Dr. Judy Zaichkowsky is an experienced and award-winning educator. She began her teaching career in the Vancouver School District at Templeton and Point Grey secondary schools. She was born and raised in Vancouver and attended Sir Guy Carleton Elementary, Killarney Secondary and the University of British Columbia before completing her M.Sc. at Guelph University and her Ph.D. at UCLA.

Judy is currently University Professor of Marketing in the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. She is a top cited world-wide scholar and has also been a Professor at the Copenhagen Business School.  She has written five editions of the leading consumer behaviour textbook in Canada. Besides writing award winning papers, she is the author of The Psychology Behind Trademark Infringement and Counterfeiting (2006).

She has led research on the effect of women on boards of directors and served on the SFU Board Of Governors for five years.  Her administrative experience includes serving as Associate Dean and Director of the MBA program.  In Vancouver she has been a Big Sister, as well as a member of the Minerva Foundation.

As a trustee, Judy will work cooperatively to improve the health, safety, social well-being, and intellectual pursuits of students. She also recognizes the importance of teacher well-being in the education equation.
